PA-WT 9: Educational Services

A comprehensive, coordinated, individual education plan is developed for each participant that supports the achievement of educational and treatment goals.
Interpretation: The agency meets the educational needs of
service recipients to the extent possible given the service setting.
Children and youth are enrolled in the local school district or an
on-grounds school, and are provided with an education plan that meets all legal requirements and is integrated into the
service plan.
Educational plans for children and youth with emotional disturbances who are underachieving incorporate what is known about effective instructional
practices,
quality curriculum design, and educational tools for diverse learning needs.
Program personnel regularly communicate and coordinate services with professionals in off-campus, educational settings.
The agency provides or arranges, as necessary:
- tutoring;
- preparation for a high school equivalency exam;
- college preparation; and
- parent-teacher meetings.
