PA-ECCD 10: Family Support
Family support services promote the health and well-being of the child, parents
, and other family members.
Providers help parents recognize child development or behavior issues that may require additional services.
Support services can include direct counseling, parent education services, and parent support groups.
Information is available to help parents cope with child-rearing responsibilities.
Information should address the needs and interests of parents and may include topics such as: early childhood development, home economics, work-life balance, and nutrition. Information can be provided through literature, seminars, conversations, or other programs
or media appropriate to the size of the service.
Providers help parents identify social service needs and provide direct services or referrals
