ACCREDITATION GUIDELINES

WHAT OTHER RESOURCES ARE AVAILABLE TO AGENCIES?

COA's accreditation is facilitative in nature. Our goal is to work with you to understand and improve your organizational capacity.

To accomplish this goal, COA has developed several technical assistance resources to help agencies successfully navigate the COA accreditation process and continue to learn the details of the COA standards.

These technical assistance and training opportunities include:

  • Organizational Partnerships and Mentoring—linking agencies with some of COA's long—standing accredited agencies based on similar structures and challenges.
  • Customized Training or Technical Assistance—on-site customized training designed to meet the unique and special needs of your agency. Contact COA's Training department for more information.
  • Webinars—you or your staff can sign up on COA's website to attend web-based teleconference trainings conducted by COA staff and field experts. Most webinars are offered at no cost or at an affordable rate.
  • Self-Paced Training—COA offers pre-recorded trainings viewed over the Internet or on CD-ROM that can be accessed multiple times at any time. Topics are determined by customer requests and identified needs.
  • Technical Assistance through the COA Coordinator—the COA Accreditation Coordinators provide on-going technical assistance to agencies throughout the accreditation process, and can direct you to resources and tools that can help you better understand the standards, assemble your Self-study document, and prepare for the site visit.
  • Face-to-Face Training— these one- or two-day workshops are provided across North America. They focus on the COA standards and process, performance and quality improvement, and quality service delivery.

For more information on these technical assistance and training resources, contact your COA Coordinator or refer to the COA website, www.coanet.org.
